Australia reasserts OPCW support with technical agreement signing (Defence Contract)
Australia has reinforced its support for the vital work of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) by signing a technical agreement in Canberra. Defence’s Chemical Agents Analysis Facility (CAAF) will play an integral role under the agreement, supporting the OPCW efforts to investigate and verify the alleged use of chemical weapons.

Erdogan says Turkish army has never used chemical weapons (Reuters)
Media close to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militant group published videos this week which it said showed chemical weapons being used by the Turkish army against the PKK in northern Iraq. President Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey’s armed forces have never used chemical weapons and that legal action would be taken against those who make such allegations, broadcaster NTV reported on October 21.

US, Philippine Marine Corps start drills, joined by Japan, S. Korea (NHK World – Japan)
Marines of the United States and the Philippines have started joint drills. Japan’s Ground Self-Defense Force and, for the first time, South Korean Marines are also taking part. Personnel will conduct landing exercises aimed at recapturing islands and check ways to respond to nuclear and chemical weapons.
